If You are Going to Bring it....Bring it Big
Jess and I are exhausted from our Fourth of July fun. Yesterday our whole family marched in the Independence Day Parade. Our community has an annual parade and Jess and I stayed up late Friday night turning JAC's stroller into a Wonder Dog float. Cash prizes are awarded for the best floats and we thought we had a pretty good chance at winning. Jess even dressed up in uniform and Roxy helped pull our float in hopes of increasing our odds of winning. I even bought JAC a red, white and blue dog shirt for the occasion. Unfortunately, since this was our rookie year we didn't realize how steep the competition was. We were defeated by a gigantic paper mache' eagle, an over sized hamburger and some kids in a recycling mobile. We were disappointed but we've already dedicated ourselves to creating a much more spectacular float next year. Those little kids are going down.
We finished off our Independence day weekend by hosting a Sunday cook out for our church friends. We invited our small group and a few others. I thought it was going to be a small affair since so many people were out of town but we got a huge turn out. 16 people crammed into our tiny house. I used every glass and fork I own. Jess and I loved. It was invigorating to have so much company and great to know we have so many awesome friends.

Hooray for fun weekends! Wish we could have been part of the audience when you and your float marched past.
